Lanco Hills. Troubles are far from over. When would they build the Residential Towers?
DC 02.03.08
Lanco Hills Technology Park Limited has challenged in the AP High Court, a notification of the AP Wakf Board declaring that 100 acres in Manikonda belongs to the Dargah Hazarat Hussain Shah Wali. According to the March 13, 2006, notification, the land was part of 1,600 acres of Wakf land belonging to the dargah. Lanco filed a petition seeking a direction to the government to suspend the operation of the gazette notification published as an addendum to the notification issued on February 9, 1989.
It may be mentioned that the government had allotted about 110 acres to IT companies like Microsoft, Infosys, Wipro, VJIL and Polaris apart from Lanco. It had also allotted 400 acres to Emaar Properties in Manikonda.
In its petition, Lanco said it had done an investment of Rs 5,500 crore in the project to build and maintain an IT Park after securing assurances from the government that the land did not have any encumbrance.
