Hyderabad. IVRCL Threatens Defamation Suit Against Hill Ridge Residents

(Excl Ventures News) The tussle between infrastructure company IVRCL and residents of Hill Ridge Springs turned uglier on Monday with the former threatening to slap a defamation case against members of the Hill Ridge Springs Owners & Residents Association for framing false charges against the company even as residents sought police protection after Sunday's developments.
They alleged that despite repeated requests made, policemen were not deployed on the premises on Monday.
About 80 residents of Hill Ridge Springs had on Sunday lodged a complaint of criminal trespass and intimidation against staffers of Hotel Ellaa , located on the same premises, which they claim has been functioning there illegally in connivance with the builder of the property, IVRCL.
However, IVRCL officials termed these developments as a ploy to tarnish the image of the firm. "The area where the hotel is situated is independent of the space occupied by the apartments. Why should we pay maintenance '' said E Sudhir Reddy, chairman and managing director , IVRCL. He further said, "Just because a few promoters from IVRCL are part of the hotel project does not mean that we are directly involved in the matter.''
Nevertheless, Hill Ridge residents maintained their claim and even alleged that a large number of employees of the hotel were unlawfully occupying apartments in the area that have not even been registered by the builder. "Over 100 such apartments have been illegally built for these staffers who do not pay any maintenance," claimed Chandrakanth Shinde, a resident of the area.
