Hyderabad News. DC 20.01.10
(Excl Ventures News) Eight companies and consortia have applied for pre-qualification for development of the project. They are L&T, Lanco-OHL (Spain), Reliance (Anil Ambani), Essar-Leighton (Australia)-Gayatri-VNR consortium, GVK-Samsung (South Korea) consortium, GMR, Transstroy-OJSC (Russia)-CR 18 (China)-BEML consortium, and Soma-Strabag (Austria) consortium.
This is the second time the Andhra Pradesh government has called for bids for the 71.16-km metro rail project covering three traffic corridors. Last year, Maytas Infra had won the bid, but lost the project as it could not achieve the financial closure by the due date. Subsequently, the government cancelled the tender and decided to call for fresh global bids. The Rs 60 crore of bid security and another Rs 11 crore paid by Maytas Infra for the project were forfeited.
Speaking to mediapersons, Anam RamaNarayana Reddy, minister for municipal administration and urban development, said there has been some amount of delay in the project due to various factors like the untimely death of YS Rajasekhera Reddy.
As per the RFQ (request for qualification) conditions, the companies and consortia to be pre-qualified to compete for the project should have a minimum net worth of Rs 3,000 crore and should have carried out projects worth Rs 18,000 crore in the last 10 years.

Instead of expected 29th, now we have Bandh earlier. The year is lost to Bandhs. Its unfortunate if students lose 1 year. Hyderabad is now being called Hyderbandh
