Hyderabad News.HMDA to recheck whether Gated Project coming up near Neknampur Lake (Narsingi) has violated regulations
(Excl Ventures News.)Authorities at the Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) on Sunday said they would carry out fresh inspections at a luxury housing project at Neknampur, days after the developers said they have adhered to all environmental laws.
The issue came to light after activists of Save Our Urban Lakes (SOUL) questioned the environmental clearance given to a 3.1 acre housing complex in Neknampur village, saying that the project, Magic Breeze Luxury Apartments, being constructed by Pooja Crafted Homes has encroached upon a part of Shikam Talab.
Pooja Crafted Homes said they have followed all norms with regard to the Magic Breeze project near the Talab and said the construction is well beyond the 30 meter buffer area of the water body as per the government rules.
“We believe that the preservation of the lake is of utmost importance and would partner with any well-meaning organisation to see that our water bodies are preserved,” said Dheeraj Reddy, director, Pooja Crafted Homes.
“The allegations raised by SOUL are baseless, as they have not visited our site and seen the ground reality where all the norms are adhered to. The allegations undermine the responsibility and the authority of almost 10 governmental bodies,” he added.
However, given persistent statements from SOUL, the HMDA said they will not sit back on this. “I will go there personally along with my assistant engineer within a day or two for inspection and check if any rules are being violated,” said HMDA deputy executive engineer Narendar Kumar
While SOUL representatives have raised objections with the environmental clearance given for construction saying the project was inside the Full-Tank Level (FTL) of the lake, Reddy has asked SOUL representatives to also join an on ground inspection.
“We have obtained the necessary approvals. The necessary approvals have been granted after thorough review by the officials of the concerned departments,” he added Comment :
