Hyderabad News.Hyderabad Pharma City to be approved as a National Investment Manufacturing Zone

(Excl Ventures News.)The Telangana government on Friday issued an order to set up the `Hyderabad Pharma City'' spread over 12,500acres across Ranga Reddy and Mahbubnagar districts. The state government has also constituted a special task force committee to monitor the implementation of the project.
The GO MS No 31said the Department of Industrial Policy and Promotion (DIPP), Union ministry of commerce and industry , has also accorded in-principle approval for setting up of National Investment Manufacturing Zone (NIMZ) for the proposed Pharma City .
“This inturn implies strategic and infrastructure support from government of India for the project,“ it added. “The government has decided to set up a Pharmaceutical City , a one-stop shop for pharmaceuticals manufacturing companies, biotech and life sciences companies.
The proposed park will have components and other related activities including antibiotics, fermentation products, synthetic drugs, large volume chemical synthesis, intermediaries, vitamins, vaccines, drug formulations, nutraceuticals, herbal medicinal products, specialty chemicals, cosmetics among others,“ the government order said.
It added that the government intends to establish a research & development (R&D) incubation center, central testing facilities and a centralized effluent treatment plant (CETP), certification facility, among others at the Pharma City. It also plans to have a dedicated university focused on pharma related research.
It has designated the Telangana State Industrial Infrastructure Corporation (TSIIC) as the nodal agency responsible for getting required clearances such as the environmental clearance (EC) and follow up with DIPP and other ministries to get approvals under NIMZ guidelines. The TSIIC will be sending a detailed project proposal (DPR) to the state government soon. Comment : As per earlier reports, the Pharma City is proposed at Mucharla beside Srisailam Highway
