Hyderabad News.LRS scheme to be extended to plots purchased after January 1 2008

(Excl Ventures News.)Unauthorised layouts and plots that were purchased after January 1, 2008, will also be regularised under the Layout Regulation Scheme (LRS). The government has given permission to regularise all such unauthorised plots and layouts, provided that the first registration was done before January 1, 2008.
For example, if a person purchased a plot after January 1, 2008, and the link document shows that the registration of the same plot was done before January 1, 2008, the plot will be eligible for regularisation. Earlier, such plots were was not eligible for regularisation under the LRS scheme.
The GHMC additional commissioner, Mr Dhanunjaya Reddy, said on Tuesday that the GHMC had written to the government urging it to consider giving permissions to regularise layouts and plots that were registered after January 1, 2008. Corporators had requested the officials to help the people who had purchased unauthorised plots after the cut-off date of the LRS scheme as many of them were unaware of the rule. Mr Reddy said the government had given permission to regularise unauthorised plots of the “owner of the layout” if he or she provided 10 per cent open space required in layout.
