Information technology major Infosys will build an iconic 70-feet inverted pyramid style building at its special economic zone (SEZ) in Pocharam village on the outskirts of the city.In all probability,the SEZ,which will be Infosys second campus in the city,will commence its operations by 2010 end.

The Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) has given permission to its inverted pyramid-style main building a couple of days ago during its building committee meeting.
The inverted pyramid shape building would have state-of-the-art aesthetic features and consist of ground plus five floors.

The building height would be 23 metres and adequate parking provisions have been made in the building plans.

HMDA officials said Infosys officials have also secured the mandatory no objection certificate (NOC) from the Airports Authority of India and Fire and Emergency Services for a height of 29 metres.

The IT major was earlier given permission for a building at the SEZ in April this year reportedly for multi use.For that,it had paid Rs 70 lakh building fee and other fee to HMDA.
Infosys was allotted 447 acres land in survey numbers 50 (P),51,54,49,48,44 and 45 (p) of Pocharam village on the Warangal state highway,which is about 10 kms from Uppal.
The state government had invited the second biggest software company in the country in 2008.
Buildings and development will be taken up in 95.57 acres of the total 447 acres of SEZ in the first phase.The IT firm may apply for two more buildings in the near future, a senior HMDA official told TOI.

Infosys has taken up phase-I at a cost of about Rs 600 crore to Rs 700 crore.For its phase-I operations,the IT firm might recruit 10,000 employees and the number might increase to 25,000 once the SEZ becomes fully operational in the next few years.Infosys currently has a 50-acre campus in Gachibowli where about 8,000 employees work.
