Hyderabad News.HMDA may lose traction? Commissioner BP Acharya Shifts to Industries Dept. Rajeshwar Tiwari takes over as new commissioner of Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority
In a shake-up of a few officers in key posts, the state government on Thursday appointed 1983-batch officer B P Acharya as principal secretary, industries and commerce, and brought in revenue secretary Rajeshwar Tiwari in his place as the new commissioner of Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA).
The post of principal secretary, industries and commerce, has been lying vacant since Busi Sam Bob,also a 1983 batch officer, moved into the chief ministers office as principal secretary. Several key officers had lobbied for the post but it was Acharya who made it.Tiwari,a 1986 batch officer, has had a harrowing time as revenue secretary with minister Dharmana Prasada Rao and several Congress gunning for him for not clearing crucial files relating to land dealings. He had gone on leave only to be admonished by chief minister K Rosaiah to return to work. His posting as new HMDA commissioner surprised many as he would continue to deal with land issues and be picky in clearing the related files.
Comment : Acharya was known to be a dynamic officer after having powerd APIIC for several years. Keyword Tags Hyderabad News,HMDA, HMDA Commissioner
